Special Education Support
Backed by the Board Chair for the National Center for Learning Disabilities.
A mandate to include and empower students with special needs.
Special education expertise at the leadership and program level.
Lower student to staff ratios.
Licensed and trained educators.
The ability to support IEP goals (at the discretion of our partner schools or districts).
Where applicable and needed, we hire special educators so that our programs have access to the know-how and understanding crucial to ensuring that students with special needs not only participate in our programs but receive a maximum amount of benefit. The same holds true of support staff such as speech language therapists, school social workers, occupational and physical therapists who support our students and the teachers that work with them. Because of this know-how many of the schools and districts we work with have trusted us to support IEP goals during the before and after school hours.
We exceed standards for student to staff ratios so that our students have access to teachers in much lower ratios than what they experience during the school day. This helps us to better accommodate students with special needs and because all our programs utilize licensed teachers all our students receive the attention they need and deserve from a well-qualified professional.
Nowhere in the field of before- and after-school programming will you find as strong a commitment to students with disabilities. We are supported by the current Board Chair and primary financial contributor for the National Center for Learning Disabilities with a mandate to do everything we can to include and empower students with special needs. The Innovation Learning founders have a strong background in special education and include a doctoral level special educator, former special education director and co-chair of the Colorado Special Education Advisory Committee. Access to this level of expertise has established Innovation Learning as a leader in the field with a track record of making sure that students with disabilities are included to the greatest extent possible.
